Best of Jamaica

"Best Of Jamaica" (BOJ), the entertainment and production arm of JCA, is committed to promoting and bringing to Southern California and the rest of the world the best that Jamaica has to offer. Since inception, BOJ has established the "Annual JCA Jazz Festival", an evening of fine dining and entertainment featuring celebrated Jamaican jazz greats Sonny Bradshaw and Myrna Hague, with special appearance by local as well as Jamaican Jazz artists. This event, which will include guest appearances by other Jamaican talent such as comedienne Joan Andrea Hutchinson, serves as a kick off event for the Jamaica Ocho Rios International Jazz Festival held in Jamaica, and has so far been held exclusively at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

A special presentation of "The Stella Maris Dance Ensemble" was held at the fabulous Tom Bradley Theater in downtown Los Angeles on October 17-19, 1998. This presentation, sponsored by American Airlines, was a first ever Los Angeles appearance by the dance troupe and one of very few presentation of Jamaican talents outside of the reggae arena.

BOJ's current endeavors include a popular request for a return appearance of Stella Maris, plans for more exposure of Jamaican filmmakers to the American marketplace, and the promotion and sponsoring of other events such as plays, pantomimes, and art exhibits.
